1950-1960 1950-1960 - a period, during which the main artistic principles of a self-trained artist and peculiarities of her plastics in miniature painting has formed. Creative work becomes the greatest passion and the main goal of her life. The artist is attracted by nature of her homeland, wide fields, meadows full of flowers, trees, shrubs, inland waters, sandy paths, hills, old cottages, townships, old mills. Following attentively the sky, the shapes and motion of the clouds, making notes of especially effective combinations of their colours, she is deeply affected by the moods of nature and changing seasons. In her compositions the surfaces of the sky and the earth are marked first of all, then much attention is paid to the structure of a foreground, the motive and the details are arranged very attentively. Colours become brighter, their tones and shades mould a form, create an impression of space. The most strictly put colour strokes create scenes, which the painter masterfully links into a harmonious and artistic whole. She paints realistic still-lives, self-portraits, and portraits of her family members. In this period were painted such works, as 'Ploughed Field' (1955), 'Bridge' (1957), 'Sandy Road' (1957), 'Stumps' (1958), 'Jug and Apples' (1959), 'Farm-Stead by the Lake' (1959). M.KUODIENĖ
